Hopelessly Retro

I just want to share with you guys the fun shoot my friends and I did yesterday. My high school friend, Rai (Ry is her chosen professional name now, hehe, hi Rai!) is now a full-fledged make-up artist and we are pitching in our 10 cents on building her portfolio.

After the make-up session, we were already hard-pressed for time. I can't remember another day when we literally scrambled to chase after the sun. lol! So as you might have deduced from these photos, we shot them so late in the afternoon. We were also hampered by the unexpected strong wind.

We were going for a summery theme but ended up getting a retro 60s feel. Can't complain. I love it! Karen's wearing a Breton striped nautical tee I got a few weeks ago and the gingham skirt I made last year. I'm wearing a turtleneck sweater that I cropped at the sleeves to make it somewhat appropriate for this season and the striped midi skirt you have already seen in this blog.

The stripes echoed in our outfits because I was going for a cohesive look. Hope it works and hope you guys like it.

If you guys are in the area (La Union) and need full make-up services for special events and even just for photoshoot sessions, you can contact Rai on her Facebook page RYabes or simply contact me and I'll refer you to her. Her make-up arsenal is to die for! Really.

  7. I love this, it's so cute and the locations are lovely. I don't think it's a bad thing that you shot later in the afternoon, I think the lighting gives it a sort of nostalgic feeling. (:
