Little Red

I was a girl on a mission during our latest trip to Baguio. The mission? Binge on as many Asian snacks as my stomach can tolerate. hoho! And from this post, you can tell it was a success.

Baguio is a food refuge to us so it is little wonder that our trips here turn into an eating fest. But that's alright because you'll burn all those calories with all the walking you will inevitably do (not that I'm much of a calorie watcher).

Random photos and commentary coming up...

Magnum? What Magnum? Korean Sandwich ice creams are still the best.

We make it a point to visit the Takoyaki stand. It wasn't as epic as it used to be. They're becoming a tad stingy with the tako and pickled ginger so all you can really taste from it is the cabbage and the batter. /meh

Korean ice cream sandwiches are drool-worthy. I must try the Taiyaki-like ice cream they have next time.

Frozen chapssalddeok! I've been trying to recreate this at home but I've always failed in microwaving the glutinous rice concoction. Oh well, I'll try again next time.

Red beans! Soft and squishy chapssalddeok. Chapssalddeok is a lot like Mochi in Japan. They also have colorful Mandus but we'll try that next time.

Seol Han Na in To The Beautiful You was eating this stuff so I was curious as to how it tasted like. It's like a cross between wafer and kropek here in the Philippines.

Found rice paper! Now I can (try) replicate the Vietnamese spring rolls we ate at Pho Saigon last time.

To have my very own herb garden - this is one of the things I have included in my bucket list.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this little photo journey of Little Red, err, floral hood. Hope you are all having a fantastic Monday!

50's Diner

I have secretly fantasized doing a retro-inspired photoshoot in a retro diner. Sadly, it hasn't come to fruition...yet. On the other hand, Myk and I have finally gotten around to eating at Glenn 50's Diner during our recently concluded Baguio trip.

Why didn't I grab the chance to dress up 50's style and have my photo taken? The place was packed, that's why! There's a limit to my camwhoring skills. It was lunch time so the place was understandably busy. We had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated. No biggie. I used the time to take photos outside.

As soon as you enter the door, you will be greeted by an array of 50's movie posters. I couldn't tell if they're authentic despite the fact that I have been watching way too many PAWN Stars episodes. The waitresses were in sailor-inspired outfits, there are bar stools over the counter, venetian blinds, checkered flooring, an old 50's car parked outside, Marilyn Monroe and Humphrey Bogart posters, a jukebox, awesome milkshake and the nostalgic sound of 50's music playing in the background - they really went all out to turn this diner into an authentic 50's experience.

Myk and I are usually into the whole dining experience - the food, the service, the price and the place. 50's diner lived up to our expectations. If there's anything to gripe about this place, it's that it made me want to run my very own retro-style diner. I'm thinking 60's-inspired. Hmm...

Our Halcyon Days

I'm baaack! Other than the occasional rain spells, the weather has been wonderful and agreeable. Finally had a chance to visit the Botanical Garden again with Myk and friends. I'm posting outfit shots today but I'll be sharing some of our photos as well in the next post. I just have way too many outfit photos. Someone's making up for lost time.

My favorite Life Words ring set

This dress is hand-made. I have shed a lot of blood because of it. haha! kidding! But really. I have lost count on how many times I pricked my fingers while sewing this dress. Santa, if you are reading, I would really love to have a new sewing machine this Christmas. I have been pretty good lately, I swear in the name of your elves and Rudoplh.

Did you notice the pretty butterfly? I haven't noticed until I started zooming this photo that there was a photobombing butterfly taken.

Plastic soft-serve ice cream. It's actually the container for my bubbles, which I thought of using as a prop but failed to because of the wind.

Yeah, gained some weight these past few weeks. It's just weight. *shrugs* but I could really use some form of exercise. I have so little energy, I practically have to force myself out of bed even after 8 hours of sleep.

So there, breaking my hiatus. Will post more photos of me and my and my friends. I promise to check out all your blogs. Hope you are all doing well! <3
