As you probably know, I'm head-over-heels in love with the 60's. Whenever I'm stumped and feel uninspired, I turn to the 60's for fashion inspiration. But while I claim to be a 60's fashion aficionado, my 60's American history knowledge leaves something to be desired.
The Help actually opened my eyes to the ugly side of this decade. For all its charm and beauty, there are underlying social problems that have yet to be brought to light. I love this film so much. I never truly understood the depths of racial discrimination in the past decades until I saw this film. There's so much emotion in it and yet there are lots of moments of levity that did not make it too depressing. Plus, it stars Emma Stone so I'm sold.
Go see this film if you haven't yet. I bet you'll love it as much as I do. In the meantime, enjoy my stills.

Ohh, really awesome vintage fashion here !
