50's Inspired

Glitter nails!

The past two weeks have been nothing short of stressful. And these days, I really can't be bothered with stress. It's not surprising that I ended up being brooding and sulky in an effort to curtail my snappish tendencies that often surface when I'm under duress. Myk finally took pity on me and came up with a weekend getaway of sorts. He prescribed leisure biking in the park as a cure to my acid disposition and vertigo. It worked! Well, sort of.

It's true though, that old adage that once you have learned how to ride a bike, you can't forget it. After a wobbly and awkward start, I managed to master the only mode of transportation I know how to maneuver- this after years of not being on a bicycle. I've forgotten what it's like to be this nonchalant and carefree. But then there are a lot of things I've forgotten. It's nice to be reminded once in a while of the stuff you have inadvertently let go of.

Alternately changed into wedges and flip flops. haha!

As for the outfit, thrifted this polka dot black sheer dress a couple of weeks ago. I'm such a sucker for polka-dotted dresses. My eyes immediately zero in on any garment with polka dot prints. I just can't help it!

This short trip was rejuvenating. It calibrated my goals, long-term and short-term. Short-term: collect more books for the floor to ceiling bookshelf I was planning, take up gardening and buy a vintage style bicycle.

I did a guest post for the Hattitude Style Blog, by the way. Thanks to the lovely Hattie (whose cute curls I envy so much) for inviting me to do a guest post. If you have time, do check her blog out! :)
